White Obsidian Concept Sketch

This is a Gemsona that i was inspired to create because of one of my close friend's AccleNavir. <3 they are such a great artists and i love their work so much, they have inspired me to draw this more realistic in 'my style' type of Steven universe crystal gem. I hope they like it <3 i decided to do this for them. This Gemsona was created by me but AccleNavir helped with the backstory and process for my character.

Name: White Obsidian (the gem itself actually exists but is rare af)

Nickname: Obsi or Dian (which Dian is what Onyx calls her and she generally calls him Nix)

Gem Location: The shards trail up the arm and around her face. The gemstone itself is in her third eye on her forehead.

Height: 6'

Personality: Generally serious and cold, Can be very sadistic at times. Unfriendly and vindictive. Onyx hold's her back from a lot of things and calms her down otherwise she would have done a lot more worse things.

Weaknesses: She sometimes let's anger consume her and if it does then she can black out and start to kill without remorse or remember anything.

Fighting techniques / Weapons: Obsidian has no weapons but her arm, it can shoot obsidian shards at its target, fabricate into a arm sword/scythe/etc. and can serve as protection forming itself as a shield when needed.

Bio/Backstory: Obsi was a lonely gem formed from the side of a volcano deep within a cave, When she was formed her gem was damaged and reformed again. The damaging was from pressure within the earth, Obsidian itself is formed from the rapid cooling, heating and cooling again of lava. But instead Obsi herself was pushed into a crevice where she broke down and reformed over many years. While her corruption is physical it took a toll on her mentally as well. From the gasses that built up turned her gem white entrapping a more white glassy color, once she was able to escape she found a human, he called himself doctor and offered to save her, to show her a new way of living and to show her something she has never seen before... That's when she met Onyx (his backstory along with {Doctor} will be explained in future posts. Her physical appearance was corrupted long before her mind was and the more she got to know this Doctor person the more he used her for experiments on her gem. Doc had long before worked and experimented with black onyx but decided he needed a new subject to carry out his deeds.

I drew this in a style as if Steven universe was a more realism or automicly correct show instead of a cartoon form. More monster like than cartoonish, this would be my spin on it.
